- Local HistoryThe History Group meets on the third Thursday of the month, with the exception of August and December. There is a wide range of speakers throughout the year, some concerning Local History and others outside the local area. We also have one or two evenings where members are invited to put on displays of their own, which they would like to share with the Meeting. In addition to this we have four interest groups, namely, Family History, My Collection, Bricks and Mortar and Military Chest. The second half of the evening normally features one of these topics. It is the aim of the History Group to make local and not so local history an enlightening and knowledgeable experience. In Clevedon we are blessed with a rich source of historical interest, the town’s Victorian architecture is some of the finest in the country, and many of the town’s folk over the years have had interesting tales to tell.
